Call for Abstracts: ISMRM African Chapter Scientific Conference 2023

We invite researchers, scientists, and clinicians to submit abstracts for the ISMRM African Chapter Scientific Conference, scheduled to take place in Accra, Ghana, from September 29th to September 30th, 2023. This conference aims to foster scientific exchange, promote collaboration, and showcase the latest advancements in the field of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in Africa.

Abstract Submission Guidelines:

• Abstracts should be structured and limited to 300 words.
• Include the following sections: Background/Objectives, Methods, Results, and Conclusions for original articles and Background, Report and Conclusions for case reports.
• Abstracts must be accompanied by a list of 3-5 keywords that represent the content of the submission.
• Ensure adherence to ethical guidelines, including obtaining appropriate approvals for human or animal studies, protecting patient confidentiality, and avoiding plagiarism.
• Abstracts must be under one of the 4 themes of the scientific meeting listed below:
  1. Advancements in MRI Technology and AI: Abstracts on the latest developments in MRI, including AI and machine learning algorithms for image analysis and reconstruction.
  2. Neuroimaging and Clinical Applications: Abstracts highlighting the use of MRI in various clinical specialties and neuroscience research, with a focus on relevant applications in Africa.
  3. Imaging in Low-Resource Settings and Multicenter Studies: Abstracts addressing the challenges of implementing MRI in resource-limited environments and showcasing collaborative research initiatives across institutions and countries.
  4. MRI Safety, Quality Assurance, and Education: Abstracts focusing on strategies for ensuring patient safety, maintaining image quality, and educational programs for capacity building and skill enhancement.
• Presentation Formats: Accepted abstracts will be considered for either oral or poster presentations, Please indicate your preferred presentation format during abstract submission.
• Selection Process: All abstracts will undergo a rigorous review process by a panel of expert reviewers. Criteria for selection include scientific merit, relevance to the conference theme, clarity of presentation, and novelty of the research. Authors will be notified of the acceptance or rejection of their abstracts by 14th of August 2023
• Ethical Considerations: Authors are responsible for ensuring that their research adheres to ethical guidelines and has received the necessary approvals. Patient confidentiality and privacy must be protected in all studies involving human subjects. Plagiarism or any form of academic misconduct will not be tolerated.
• Submission Instructions: Abstracts should be submitted online via the conference website. The submission portal will be open from June 21, 2023. Please follow the provided template and guidelines for abstract formatting and upload. Include the author's names, affiliations, and contact details as part of the submission. The presenter name and affiliations must be clearly stated
